Customizing Color Code Plots

You can customize the display of color code plots by selecting colors for each region from a palette.

You can save your customized colors on a per plot basis. These custom colors persist, whether you return to the plot in the same session or save and reopen the model. Each user-defined plot can have its own custom color settings.

Before you begin: You must have an active color code plot.
  1. Click a region of your color code plot that you wish to assign a custom color.
  2. Select Change color from the context toolbar.
The Change Color dialog box opens.
  3. You can assign a custom color to your selected region in multiple ways:
    • From the Color Square tab, move the color picker within a color family to select a hue; adjust the slider to change the brightness.
    • From the Color Wheel tab, drag the handle to select a hue. The triangle rotates within the color wheel. Move the color picker within the triangle to add tint or shade.
    • From the Sliders tab, select a color model (RGB, HSV, or HSL) and adjust each slider to select a hue. RGB is the Red Green Blue standard additive color model, HSV is Hue Saturation Value, and HSL is Hue Saturation Luminosity.
  4. Click Apply to apply the custom color to the region you selected.

You can continue making selections in the model and picking colors. The Change Color dialog box remains open until you close it.

  5. To save a custom color for future selections, expand Custom Colors and click Add.
The new color is assigned to one of the 10 color swatches.
  6. Once a custom color is assigned to the color swatch, you can select a region of the model, click the swatch, and click Apply to use the custom color for that region.
  7. Click Reset to clear the custom color swatches.
