Modifying a Resource Footprint

You can change the appearance of a resource footprint using 2D Layout for 3D Design capabilities. A footprint is the specification of the area occupied by the resource on the shop floor. The footprint exists but is not visible before it is modified.

You can also delete the footprint.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open the data for which you want to edit a footprint and open the Plant Layout Design app.

Before creating a new footprint, select 2D Layout sheet standard, sheet style, and sheet orientation in Footprint Creation Preferences in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Simulation > Process Flow and Plant Layout tab. For more information, see Layout.

Note: The footprint commands are only available when there are drafting applications present. If there are no drafting applications, then the commands are hidden.
