Logging on to 3DEXPERIENCE

You can log on to 3DEXPERIENCE from Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project using the 3DEXPERIENCE ribbon.

Required access roles: Author, Leader, Owner

When you install Collaboration for Microsoft, the 3DEXPERIENCE ribbon is available in Microsoft Office applications. From the ribbon, you can log on to 3DEXPERIENCE or log off from it.

You can access all the features of Collaboration for Microsoft after you log on.

Note: You have to provide user credentials and log on only once per Windows session. If your computer supports multi-user login, multiple users can log on separately.

  1. To log on to 3DEXPERIENCE from the Collaboration for Microsoft client, do any of the following:
    • From your desktop, right-click the Collaboration for Microsoft icon .
    • From the system tray on your desktop, click the Collaboration for Microsoft icon .
    • From Windows Explorer, right-click 3DEXPERIENCE
    • From any Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Microsoft Project) or from Windows Explorer, click Login from the 3DEXPERIENCE ribbon.

    The Login to 3DEXPERIENCE Platform dialog box appears.

    On the cloud only: Click Collaboration for Microsoft in the north quadrant of the compass to login.

    You can directly login using Collaboration for Microsoft for connecting to the same tenant again. In case the URL of the tenant is changed, you must login using the compass.

  2. Provide your username and password.
  3. Click Log in.

    If your company uses credentials, the Choose a credentials dialog box appears.

    Note: This dialog box only appears if you are assigned more than one credential. Choose the credentials you want to use for the current session and click Done.

    The green Login icon turns into the red Logout icon to indicate that you are logged on to 3DEXPERIENCE successfully.
  4. Choose your credentials in the Credentials window and save your changes. Choose your preferences from the following lists:

    Organization

    The list contains the companies, business units, and other organizations you are associated with.

    Collaborative Space

    The list contains the collaboration spaces to which you have access.

    A collaborative space is a workspace that contains objects related to a People and Organization project. For example, within the context of a specific project, you could have one collaboration space for marketing and another for engineering.

    Access Role

    The list contains the roles assigned to you.

    Notes: The Credentials window does not always appear when you log on to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • If you are only assigned to a single organization or collaborative space, then you only have to choose your role.
    • If you are assigned to only a single organization, collaboration space and role, then this screen is only displayed the first time you log on to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • If your Business Administrator has configured your preferred credentials or you have logged on before, then you are directly logged on to 3DEXPERIENCE.

    You can also change your credentials later when you are logged on to 3DEXPERIENCE. From the system tray on your desktop, click the Collaboration for Microsoft icon and click My Credentials

    Note: If you have already logged in using the web, the client is automatically connected. A prompt to disconnect to the existing session and connect to the new session appears, only if the client is connected to a different server or logged in with a different user name.

  5. To log out from 3DEXPERIENCE, click Logout from the 3DEXPERIENCE ribbon.
    The red Logout icon turns into the green Login icon to indicate that you are logged out from 3DEXPERIENCE successfully.

Important: If you access Collaboration for Microsoft from the web user interface, you do not have to provide login credentials again.
