Synchronizing Attributes

You can synchronize attributes between 3DEXPERIENCE and Microsoft Office files.

Required access roles: Author, Leader, Owner

On premises only: Your Business Administrator can map the attributes to the file properties.

The Synchronize Attributes menu contains the following options:

  • To Database: To synchronize the mapped file properties with 3DEXPERIENCE object attributes.
  • From Database: To synchronize the attributes of 3DEXPERIENCE objects with the mapped file properties.

Note: Attributes are synchronized automatically during a check-in/checkout process.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Lock the document you want to synchronize. If you have not locked the document, you cannot enable the Synchronize Attributes options.

Synchronize to Database

You can synchronize file attributes from your computer to3DEXPERIENCE.

Required access roles: Author, Leader, Owner

  1. Open and edit file properties.

    Important: You can synchronize only the file properties that you map in the Global Config Object.

  2. Select the 3DEXPERIENCE tab.
  3. From the toolbar ribbon, click .
    The file properties are synchronized with the attributes of the 3DEXPERIENCE object.

Synchronize from Database

You can synchronize the attributes of the file in 3DEXPERIENCE to the file on your computer.

Required access roles: Author, Leader, Owner

  1. Modify the attributes of the 3DEXPERIENCE object.
  2. Select the 3DEXPERIENCE tab.
  3. From the toolbar ribbon, click .
    The attributes of the 3DEXPERIENCE object are synchronized with the file properties.
