Save as New
You can create a document in its first revision in 3DEXPERIENCE and attach a file to it.
Required access roles: Author, Leader, Owner
- From the Microsoft Office application, navigate to the 3DEXPERIENCE ribbon.

Click
Save As
> Save As New
.
The Save as New pane appears. -
Provide the following information.
Note: Provide information for all the attributes in the Document Object Attributes section.
- In the Title box, provide the title of the document.
- In the File Name box, provide the file name of the document. You cannot provide the file name for the locally saved document.

You can choose a file extension from the file extension list while
saving a file locally from the Save as New
panel. If you have already saved a file locally, you cannot change
the file extension.
The availability of file extension depends on the GCO options defined in; MSF-ApplicationExtensionMappings.
The following extensions are supported:

From the
Document Type list, choose the type of
document from the supported types.
On premises only: Your Business Administrator or any authorized user can configure the available types.
- From the Policy list, choose the attribute that governs the type of document.

From
3DEXPERIENCE
Location, browse to the
3DEXPERIENCE
folder in which you want to create the document.
Note: If you want to save a document in the bookmark root, create a folder under the bookmark root first.

From Office 365 Location, browse to the Office 365 folder
in which you want to create the document.
Note: You can simultaneously create the document in an Office 365 folder only if the preference is activated.

Select the following check boxes.
Option Description Auto name
Names the new document is according to default conventions.
Delete local file
By default, your new file is also saved in your working folder when you upload it to 3DEXPERIENCE. This option deletes the file from your working folder.
Retain lock
Locks the new document.
Save to Office 365
Enables the feature that lets you simultaneously create and check in the document in an Office 365 folder.
- Click Save.
The document is created, and the file is attached and checked in to it. A confirmation message appears.
