Uploading a Completed Materials Compliance Connect File

You can use post a completed or filled-out Materials Compliance Connect data file.


Before you begin:
  1. Enter all material and substance information in the Materials Compliance Connect spreadsheet.
  2. Execute the "Certify and Export" option on the "Part Detail" worksheet. This option creates an ASCII file with a .mcc file extension.

  1. Select Actions > Upload Completed Compliance Connect File.

    The Existing Uploads section lists files that you previously uploaded, and provides this information for each file:

    Column NameDescription
    File NameThe file name of uploaded file. Click the file name to view the log file from the upload process. For failed uploads, use the information in this file to determine how to fix the issue.
    TypeThe type of upload performed:
    • Submit
    • Submit and preview
    • Direct Data Import
    Upload TimeThe date of the upload.
    StatusThe status of the upload.

  2. Choose the type of upload you want to perform:
    OptionDescription
    Submit Uploads the .mcc file and performs these actions:
    • Performs a data check.
    • Parses the Materials Compliance Connect data file for part numbers, promotes the associated material declarations from Requested to Submitted.
    • Transmits the Materials Compliance Connect data file to an accessible location for the Materials Compliance Management host company where it can be manually imported into the Materials Compliance Management database by a Compliance Engineer.
    Submit and Preview Uploads the .mcc file and performs these actions:
    • Performs a data check.
    • Performs a complete data check of the entire Materials Compliance Connect data file and displays one of these results:
      • Check Failed
      • Check Successful - Data File Submitted
    • If the check succeeded, submits the file to be manually imported by the Materials Compliance Management host company.
    Direct Data Import Uploads the .mcc file for direct import into the Materials Compliance Management host company's Materials Compliance Management database (privileged users only).

    Suppliers with a proven track record of submitting accurate and complete data files can be given access to this privileged user functionality.

    When complete, the app displays the status of the import:

    • Import Successful
    • Import Failed

  3. Click Choose File and select the file you want to upload.
  4. Click Submit. The app uploads the file depending on the type of upload you selected.

The app adds the file to the Existing Uploads list including the upload status.
