Editing Series

You can rename series, display statistical curves, change the sampling, and change the series color of a configured Social Analytics.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  1. Be Owner or Contributor of the dashboard.
  2. On the Details tab, hover over the series description of the series that you want to edit and click Edit to open the Edit series window. For more information, see Displaying the Details and Insights Tabs.

Rename Series

You can rename the series of the chart.

  1. In the Name field, enter the name of your choice.
  2. Click Update.

Display Statistical Lines

You can display statistical lines on What is said? chart in Articles view.

  1. In the Edit series window, select the statistical series you want to display on the chart:
    • Smooth curve.
    • Linear regression.
    • Forecast.
  2. Click Update.

Change Sampling

To optimize loading performances, Social Analytics may automatically limit the number of results it displays to a percentage of the total results. No results are ever deleted and you can manually disable or change this limit at any time. If you do so, your Social Analytics may be slower.

By default, the sampling applied to the results is as follows:

Up to 1 million No sampling: All results appear on the widget. All
Note: Select this entry to disable sampling.
From 1 million to 10 million 10%: Only 10% of these results appear on the widget. 1/10
From 10 million to 100 million 1%: Only 1% of these results appear on the widget. 1/100
Over 100 million 0.1%: Only 0.1% of these results appear on the widget. 1/1000

  1. From the Sampling list, select the value of your choice. For more information about the values, see table above.
  2. Click Update.
  3. Click Ok if a confirmation message appears.

The widget applies the selected sampling and the applied sampling value appears on the series' legend.

Change the Series Color

  1. Click the Color square to open the color picker.
  2. Click the color you want.
