Customizing Preferences

You can customize widget preferences for Tracked Topic.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: From the widget header, select Menu > Preferences.

Title

By default, the widget header displays the app name (Tracked Topic) followed by the content of the query parameter that was defined when the widget was configured. You can display a custom title instead of the query parameter content.

Note: You cannot modify nor delete the app name from the widget header.

  1. In the Title field, enter your custom title.

    When you leave the field blank, the widget header displays the content of the query parameter that was defined when the widget was configured.

  2. Click Save.

View

By default, Tracked Topic automatically selects the most suitable appearance for its list of articles when it is configured. This automatic selection depends on the articles' content; for example, whether they contain images or not. You can change this appearance.

  1. Click the View default value.
  2. From the list, select one of the following:
    • Condensed. For each article, this view displays the article title and a few words from the article content on one line and in a small font.
    • List. For each article, this view displays the article title and a few words from the article content on one line and in a font of a regular size.
    • Normal. For each article, this view displays the article title, an excerpt from the article content, and a thumbnail if at least one image can be found in the article content.
    • Mosaic. For each article, this view displays the article title and a large thumbnail if at least one image can be found in the article content.
  3. Click Save.

Open Directly on the Site

By default, Tracked Topic opens its articles in the widget when you click their titles in the list of articles. You can enable the Open directly on the site preference to make Tracked Topic open the articles' source web pages in a new window instead.

Important: When this option is enabled, you cannot:
  • Mark any article as unread.
  • Share any article.
  • Publish any article to 3DSwym.
  • Transfer any article to ENOVIA.
  • Add Opinions.

  1. Select the Open directly on the site check box.
  2. Click Save.
    Articles open their source web pages in a new window when you click their titles in the list of articles.
