Creating a Lineic Extrusion

You can extrude a set of sketch or trace curves. This set is duplicated and connecting curves are automatically generated between these two sets.

Before you begin: Create a sketched or vector curve, or import an image support.
  1. From the Standard section of the action bar, tap Lineic Extrusion .
  2. Select the set of curves and use the handle to extrude them.
Connecting curves are generated between the extreme and maxima points of the two profiles.

    Trace curves

    Notes:
    • Trace curves are created provided the initial curves were trace curves. However, no sketch curves are created provided the initial curves were sketch curves.
    • Colors applied on curves are also duplicated.
  3. To define the orientation mode, right-click the corner of the handle's plane and click one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Snap Snaps the manipulator on the global axis system. At least one direction of the manipulator follows the canonical axis and the normal is kept.
Local Axis Snaps the manipulator on the local axis.
  4. Transform the selected curves by performing either of the following operations:
    • Resize the curves by dragging the corners or the edges of the handle's plane.
    • Translate the curves along the directions of the handle.
    • Translate the curves along the normal of the handle.
    • Rotate the curves using the center point of the handle.
Transformation operations are also available by double-tapping the image, and through Modify.

Tip: You can overload the handle manipulation by pressing the following keyboard shortcuts:
  • S for scaling.
  • R for rotation.
  • T for translation.
  • N for translation along the normal direction.
