Manipulating the Viewpoint

You can move, rotate or zoom in the viewpoint.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: A drawing plane must be selected.

The options are available in the Navigation frame at the top-right of the screen.

Rotate the Viewpoint

You can rotate the viewpoint around a fixed rotation point.

Perform either of the following operations:
  • In the transformation pad, tap Rotate.
  • With a mouse, hold down the middle mouse button, then the left mouse button and drag (still holding both buttons down) around the rotation point. This rotation point can be modified by tapping another 3D object.

Pan the Viewpoint

You can pan across the viewpoint.

Perform either of the following operations:
  • In the transformation pad, tap Pan.
  • With a mouse, hold down the middle mouse button and drag vertically and horizontally.

Zoom in the Viewpoint

You can zoom in the viewpoint.

Perform either of the following operations:
  • In the transformation pad, tap Zoom.
  • With a mouse, hold down the middle mouse button, then tap and release the left mouse button, and drag up to zoom in or drag down to zoom out.

If you have first activated a command, this command will be deactivated during the manipulation of the viewpoint. Once you have finished manipulating the viewpoint, the command will be activated again.

Note: You can hide the options by tapping the arrow to the right of the Navigation label.
