Blending Curves

You can blend two trace curves with a new curve.

Before you begin: Create at least two trace curves.
  1. Optional: Set your Trace options as desired.
    OptionDescription
Opacity (%) Drag the slider or edit the value to define the opacity of the curve (as a percentage).
Thickness (mm) Drag the slider or edit the value to define the curve thickness.
Note: You can set your trace options at any time while tracing.
  2. From the Traces section of the action bar, tap Trace Blend .
  3. Tap the extremity of one of the curves.

When you hover over the curves, they are highlighted in blue with one dot at each end to indicate which extremity you can tap.

    The first extremity is selected.

Note: You cannot tap the other extremity of the same curve.
  4. Tap the extremity of another curve.
A blend curve is created and appears in the tree.

Tip: You can modify the continuity and the orientation of the blend curve. To modify the continuity, right-click one of the extremities of the blend curve and click to choose between a G0 or a G2 connection. To modify the orientation, right-click one of the extremities of the blend curve and click to choose between a positive or a negative orientation.
    Notes:
    • Only the opacity and the color can be defined in the Graphic Properties frame at the right of the screen. The thickness of the new curve varies between the thickness of each extremity.
    • To modify the blend curve, you must convert it to a trace curve.
    • A blend curve is constrained by its two trace curves. If you modify one of the trace curves, the blend curve will be modified too.
    • You can edit blend curves to modify its trace curves. Double-click the blend curve directly in the work area or right-click the blend curve in the tree, select Name of the object > Definition....
  5. From the Traces section of the action bar, tap Conversion to Trace Curve .
  6. Do either of the following:
    • Select Stroke selection to convert the blend curve by striking through it.
    • Select Trap selection to convert the blend curve by tracing around it.
An information panel appears to let you know that the blend curve has been converted to a trace curve.
Note: The previous blend curve is hidden in the tree and is replaced by a trace curve.
