Cadence Allegro PCB Editor Settings

These are the configurable settings for the Cadence Allegro PCB Editor.

This page discusses:

General Settings

This is the option under the General Settings tab.

Option Description
Part Number Mapping

Attribute: The part number-mapping attribute holds the PDM part number.

Use this attribute to map the parts between the ECAD system and 3DEXPERIENCE. You can specify the attribute for mapping the parts.

IDF Settings

This IDF export setting is just the replacement of the settings from the Allegro PCB Design tool. For more information, see the Allegro PCB Design User's Guide.

Option Description
File Name Type

This setting specifies the name of the mechanical system. Select one of the following file name types:

  • IDF (default value)
  • SDRC
  • PTC

IDF Version This setting specifies the IDF version. Values can be 2.0 or 3.0. The default value is 3.0.
Source Identification This setting specifies the string for source system identification that will appear in the header section of the IDF file. The default value is CadenceAllegro.
Default Package Height This setting specifies the height of the components to be assumed, whose height is otherwise not stated in the input board/substrate. The default value is 0.0.
Use Existing Filter This setting specifies the configuration file for filtering design information. No specific extension name is required. The name of the filter is iDfFilterOut.config and resides in the folder in the layout.

Backward Annotation Settings

This annotation setting is the replacement of the settings from Cadence Allegro. For more information, see the Cadence Allegro User's Guide.

Option Description
Enable Annotation for Checkin The Enable Annotations for Checkin option controls the behavior if it is possible to check in the Annotation or not. If you choose this option, you can store the Forward and the Backward Annotation in 3DEXPERIENCE. The annotations are displayed in the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog and the annotations settings in Preferences are enabled.
Ask User If you select this option, the Selected Packaging Flow dialog comes up where you can select the appropriate forward annotation behavior during the save process. If this check box is not selected automatically, the configured behavior is used.
Select Packaging

If the Ask User check box is not selected, you can choose the behavior of the backward annotation:

  • Manually selected packager files -

Directly opens the packager file dialog without running the Packager-XL tool. In this dialog, you can select the packager files and click OKto save the selected files to 3DEXPERIENCE.

  • Run auto creation of packer files -

This option will automatically create and save Packager files to 3DEXPERIENCE.
