Cadence OrCAD Settings

You can use the OrCAD PCB settings to define part number mapping. After changing this preference, reopen the Library project for the change to take effect.

Capture.ini

Option Description
Use default capture.ini This setting enables the usage of the default capture.ini found in %CDSROOT%/tools/capture/capture.ini .
Use custom capture.ini You can specify the path of the capture.ini by directly specifying the path or by choosing it in the browser dialog.

BOM Part Number Mapping

Attribute Name

This attribute will be used to map the parts between the EDA system and 3DEXPERIENCE.

CIS License

Use a CIS License in OrCAD

You can enable this option if BOM variants need to be used. Enabling this results in an error if no CIS License is available.

Settings for OrCAD Save As Mode

Option Description
Copy All Referred Files Present inside Project Folder Selecting this check box archives all the files referred by the project, which are present within the project folder. Referred files include projects, designs, libraries, simulation profiles, output files, etc.
Copy All Referred Files Present outside of Project Folder Selecting this check box archives all the files referred by the project, which are present outside the project folder. Copies of these files end up in a new sub folder as MovedFiles. Referred files include projects, designs, libraries, simulation profiles, output files, etc.

Settings for OrCAD Archive Project Mode

Option Description
Library Files Archive library files and related files located in the Library folder of the project manager. These files include library (*.OLB) files, simulation and synthesis (*.VHD) files, *.STL files, and *.SML files.
Output Files Archive output files generated by Capture tools. For example, cross reference reports (*.XRF files), EDIF netlists (*.EDN files) and PSpice project .DAT files would be archived.
Referenced Projects Recursively save any projects referenced from within the current project.
Include Testbench Include any testbench that is part of the current project.

PDF Settings

The PDF settings are just the replacement of the settings under OrCAD Tool.

PCB Editor Netlist Settings

You can use the filter settings to include or exclude a library. You can configure the libraries to be displayed in the CDM synchronization dialog.

Option Description
Enable PCB Editor Netlist for checkin The Enable PCB Editor Netlist for checkin check box controls the behavior if it is possible to save the netlist or not. Select this box to store the netlist to 3DEXPERIENCE. The Netlist is displayed in the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog and the sub settings in preferences are enabled.
Ask User If this check box is selected, the Select Allegro PCB Netlist Flow dialog displays your options of which netlist behavior is required during the save process. If this check box is not selected, the configured behavior will prevail.

If the Ask User check box is not selected, you can choose the behavior of the netlist.

  • Manually selected netlist files -

    Directly opens the netlist file dialog without running the netlist tool. In this dialog, you can select the netlist files and clickOK to save the selected files to3DEXPERIENCE.

  • Run autocreation of Allegro PCB netlist files -

    The automatic creation and saving of Netlist files to 3DEXPERIENCE.
