Managing a Workspace

You can create and manage a workspace directly from the Client Connector.

The access permission for the created workspace needs to be configured in 3DEXPERIENCE. It is not available from the connector.

This task shows you how to:

Searching for a Workspace

You can create a workspace in3DEXPERIENCE directly from the Client Connector.

  1. Click Search to retrieve any workspace in 3DEXPERIENCE.
  2. Expand the tree of the workspace to browse through the design documents under each workspace.

    Note: You can perform similar operations like the one in the General search using the context menu on the CAD object.

Creating a Workspace

You can create a workspace in 3DEXPERIENCE directly from the Client Connector.

  1. Click Create new Workspace.
  2. Specify a name for the workspace.

    The workspace name is unique so when you try to create a workspace with the same name as the existing one, an error is given.

  3. Specify a description for the workspace.
  4. Click OK to create the workspace in3DEXPERIENCE.
    The workspace is created with the specified name and for the current user.
  5. Click Cancel to end the workspace creation process and to close the dialog.

The created workspace is returned to the My Workspace search dialog.

Adding to a Workspace

You can assign a CAD Model to an existing workspace folder.

  1. Open the Workspace Folder Selection dialog box.
  2. Select the desired workspace folder and click OK.

    Note: CAD Models can be assigned to multiple workspace folders, but you can select only one at a time.

  3. (Optional) Select Cancel if you choose to end the assignment.

This action returns you to the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box.

Renaming a Workspace

You can rename an existing workspace.

  1. Click Rename in the context menu to open a dialog for specifying a new name for a workspace or folder.
  2. Click OK to save the new workspace or folder name in 3DEXPERIENCE. The updated name is displayed under My Workspace.
  3. Select Cancel to end the renaming operation and to close the dialog.

The renamed workspace or folder is returned to the My Workspace search under the selected workspace.

Deleting a Workspace

You can delete an existing workspace in 3DEXPERIENCE.

  1. Click the Delete Workspace in the context menu.
    The confirmation dialog appears.
  2. Click either yes or no to finish the deletion command.
    • To delete a workspace 3DEXPERIENCE, click Yes.
    • To end the delete command, click No.

The workspace is deleted.
