Product Graphic Properties

You can apply graphic properties to references and occurrences. The inheritance mechanim is described below.

When applying graphic properties to a reference or to a parent object, the inheritance mechanism propagates these properties to the instances or children. You can apply both instance/reference and parent/child inheritance to graphic properties.

This inheritance mechanism is applied for all graphic properties:

  • Parent/child inheritance: You can assign a property to subproducts by changing the graphic property of their root product or parent.
  • Reference/instance inheritance: You can assign a property to an instance by changing the graphic properties of its reference.
Important: Priority is given to overloaded properties of an instance (or occurrence). If you have overloaded graphic properties on an instance, changing the reference graphic properties does not modify the instance.

The parent/child inheritance mechanism has priority over the reference/instance mechanism .
