Creating 3D Tags

A 3D Tag is a geometrical feature with all feature capabilities and is used to display text in the geometry. It has the following properties:

  • Each 3D tag has a text label which can have one or more leaders.
  • The label is a literal of type string with usual behavior. It can be edited in tree or in command's dialog box. You can also add a formula.
  • The leaders' end points are defined by selecting points or vertices.
  • In the geometry, the text is located by default near the barycenter of the leaders' end points.

The position can be changed by manipulation when editing the 3D tag.

  • 3D tags can generate associative 2D texts with leaders in Drafting app.

You must modify the Generative View Style (GVS) by setting Common3DModeling.3DTag.Extraction to Yes in the DefaultGenerativeStyle.

  • You can change the graphic properties such as color, line type, thickness, in the Graphic tab of the Properties dialog box. The text properties (font, size, etc.) cannot be modified.
  • If the drawing is updated, label and leaders of the 2D text are updated according to the last 3d tag values.

However, position and properties of the 2D text are not updated to keep any user modification.

  • 2D texts are generated only under conditions such as the 3D tag is active and in show mode.
