Creating Drafts from Reflect Lines

You can draft a face with reflect lines as neutral lines from which the resulting faces will be generated. You can also trim the material to be created by defining a parting element.


Before you begin: To perform this task, create a cylinder.

About Drafts from Reflect Lines
  1. From the Refine section of the action bar, click Draft Reflect Line .

    The Draft.x dialog box is displayed and an arrow appears, indicating the default pulling direction.

    Note: You can right-click the Pulling Direction box and select any contextual command to create pulling directions.
  2. Select the cylinder.
    The appdetects one reflect line and displays it in pink . This line is used to support the drafted faces.

    The option available after the Face(s) to draft box lets you edit the list of the faces to be drafted. For more information about that capability, see Editing a List of Elements.

  3. Enter an angle value in the Angle box. The reflect line is moved according to the value entered.
  4. Click Preview.

  5. Click More to expand the dialog box.
  6. Select the Parting element check box. You can select the required parting element .

    Contextual commands creating the parting elements you need are available from the Parting element box.
