Creating Scalings

You can resize the geometry to the required dimension using points, planes or planar surfaces as scaling references.

This task shows how to scale a body in relation to a point.


Before you begin: To perform this task, create a pad and a point on this pad.
  1. Select the body to be scaled.


  2. From the Transform section of the action bar, click Scaling .
    The Scaling.x dialog box appears.
  3. Select the reference point located on the body.
    A graphic handle is displayed on the body.
  4. Enter a value in the Ratio box or click the handle and drag it.

    The ratio increases as you drag the handle in the direction pointed by the right end arrow.



  5. Click OK.

    The body is scaled.



Tip: You can also resize a body in relation to a face or plane. In the example below, the plane zx is the reference element and the ratio is 1.6.
