Managing Probes in the Assembly View

You can use probes to monitor and interact with an execution instance.


Before you begin: Execute a system experience. For more information, see Executing a System Experience.

  1. In the work area, click a port name or a hierarchical port name.
    The corresponding probe appears. Depending on the port to manage, the probe has a specific representation:
    • Digital probe for a Boolean port.
    • Analogic probe for other port types.
    Note: You can also add probes from the Experience Tree.
  2. Optional: To change the display of the port, depending on the display mode:

    Mode Action
    Switch display Move the cursor between 0 and 1 to change the value.
    Monostable display Click the button to set the value momentarily to 1.
    Text display Click to edit the box.
    Chronogram display Use the Properties or Autoscale buttons to adjust the display.

  3. To start execution, click Play from the Execution section of the action bar.
  4. Optional: To reset the execution with initial values, click from the Execution section of the action bar.
  5. Optional: To only executes one step of execution, click Step from the Execution section of the action bar.

    For a more refined analysis, you can repeat this step a number of times.

    Note: The command is available if you click Play to pause the execution or if the execution is in stop mode.
