Navigating with Multiple Widgets

You can work simultaneously with two widgets, and synchronize the secondary widget with specific information from the primary widget.

Note: When a tab or dashboard app is duplicated or shared, the synchronization is kept between widgets.

From the primary widget, you can synchronize and filter the view in the secondary widget with attributes from the properties area (predicates), such as Implements, Contains, etc.

The following scenario describes this functionality with Systems Traceability Dashboarding. The scenario is identical for Systems Experience Player.

Before you begin:
  1. Open two widgets.
  2. In one of the widget (the one you consider as primary), open a model.
  1. To define a synchronization between two widgets:
    1. From the primary widget, drag an element (predicate or semantic browser configuration).

    2. Drop it onto Multiwidget Synchronization, in the secondary widget.

Warning: Multiwidget Synchronization appears only when you drag an element to the area located below Hide/Show Tree .

  2. To navigate and display information:
    1. From the primary widget, select any model or element.
    2. From the secondary widget, on the tree tab, expand the elements to display information for this selection.
  3. To collapse a tree tab without deleting it, click Hide/Show Tree .
  4. Click Submenu on the upper-right corner of the tree tab to display more contextual commands:
    • Close Tree Tab: To end the synchronization mode between the two widgets
    • Show Navigation Config
    • Export to Excel

Note: For more information about the submenu commands, see Tree Tab Menu.
