About Project Assessments

An independent assessor or the project manager assesses the current health of a project based on evaluation of the project data. This evaluation can be captured and a status assigned to indicate the overall assessment of the project. Project assessment can be conducted at any time during a project. The project owner and people assigned Project Lead or Project Assessor access can make an assessment. All project members can view assessments.

About Projects

One or more members of a project can be given Project Assessor access. These members have easy visibility and access to their projects because they are displayed in project lists. The assessor evaluates the following areas of the project:

  • Schedule
  • Cost
  • Resource
  • Risk

The assessment also includes the date of assessment and the assessor's evaluation. The evaluations are displayed with values of red/yellow/green.

  • Red means the project health is in trouble and needs immediate attention.
  • Yellow means the project is on schedule but at high risk and should be watched.
  • Green means the project is in good shape.

The assessor can include a document giving further specifics about the assessment.

The latest overall assessment rolls up to the project dashboard. From there, you can click on it and read the latest assessment.

The owner of an assessment can attach documents to it. For example, assessors might want to attach documents that support or explain the assessment status they assign. The steps for working with assessment attachments are the same as the steps for attachments to any item.
