Side Panel

The side panel is a tabbed interface that displays details about the content type (mesh, mesh quality, material, scenario, or results) in your simulation. The side panel also provides a forum for comments and feedback between colleagues and partners, which allows you to discuss the results of your simulation in real time.

This page discusses:

The side panel displays statistics for the type of content you are viewing. For example, if you are viewing mesh content, the side panel displays statistics such as the number of elements and the number of nodes. If you are viewing material content, the side panel displays statistics such as the density, isotropic elasticity data, and plasticity data. For results content, the side panel displays the plot types you selected when generating the experience content; for example, von Mises Stress.

Physics Simulation Tab

The Physics Simulation tab displays information for the selected content type, including charts. You can extract, maximize, dock, or stack charts in new panels.

In the example below left, the side panel displays basic simulation results information. Below right, the side panel displays a chart.

The Physics Simulation tab is also where you can display the materials in your model. You can cross highlight materials in the side panel with their actual location in the model. Similarly, if you highlight a part in the model, the side panel node expands and displays the details for the corresponding material.

Relations Tab

The Relations tab displays information for physics simulations and for finite element models (FEM). For physics simulations, this tab lists the objects related to the loaded asset, such as the simulated products and the finite element model that is used in the simulation.

The following example shows the Relations tab and possible context menu actions.

Properties Tab

The Properties tab displays PLM attributes or metadata for the current Physics Simulation or finite element model. The following example shows the properties of the model.

Social Comments Tab

The Social Comments tab allows you to add comments and reply to comments associated with the physics simulation or finite element model. These comments are shared between apps accessing 3DSpace data in the collaborative space. For example, comments that you create for a physics simulation in Physics Simulation Review or 3DPlay also appear in the Social Comments tab of the information panel for 3DSpace and Search results. The reciprocal is also true; comments made for a simulation found in the 3DSpace app or in Search results also appear in the Social Comments tab in Physics Simulation Review and 3DPlay.

The following example shows the comment thread in the side panel.
