You can cut through objects using a cutting plane, which lets
you see details inside the object.
Note:
Section views are not persistent. Therefore, you cannot save them for
an upcoming session.
From the
Tools section of the
action bar,
click
Section
.
The
Sectioncontext toolbar
appears.
Select an axis to form the cutting plane.
Option
Description
Position to X
Aligns the cutting plane with the X-axis.
Position to Y
Aligns the cutting plane with the Y-axis.
Position to Z
Aligns the cutting plane with the Z-axis.
Click the
3D areaa.
The cutting plane appears, revealing the inside details of
the object at the location of the cut.
You can manipulate the cutting plane in several ways:

Rotate the plane
Drag its edges.
Translate the plane
Drag its center.
Reverse the cutting direction
Select the cutting plane, and click
Flip
. Parts that were hidden are now visible, and parts that
were visible are now hidden.
Move the viewpoint
Click
Move Viewpoint
, and drag the center circle of the cutting plane to a
new position or drag the slider at the top between the
Near and
Far extremes.
Hide or show the cutting plane
Click
Hide or Show Section Pane
to change the visibility of the cutting plane. The model
visibility remains unchanged.
Delete the plane
Click
Delete
.
The section remains until you delete it, switch to different
content, or until you create another one.
