Displaying Material Information

You can display information about the materials used your model.

You can view material behavior data for each material in the selected product. This data could include density, isotropic elasticity data, and plasticity data as well as any other material behaviors specified in the simulation domain. Yield stress curves, a type of plasticity data, display as X-Y plots in the side panel. In addition, you can select materials in the side panel to highlight them in their actual location in the model.

Note: For composite materials, the experience content generated by the simulation authoring apps cannot generate the detailed material layer information.

Before you begin: Close the animation player. You cannot display the side panel while the animation player is running.
  1. From the standard area of the action bar, click Choose Content .
  2. Select the Material content type.
  3. From the Simulation section of the action bar, click Side Panel to show the side panel.

Tip: You can hide the side panel by clicking again.

  4. Select the Physics Simulation tab.
The Physics Simulation tab displays a color-coded list of the parts in your model. The colors in the side panel correspond to the colors in the model in the work area.
  5. Click a model part in the side panel to display details about the selected material.

The material details expand in the side panel, and the parts with that material in the model are highlighted for emphasis.
