Validating the Interference Simulation Results in a Collaborative Environment

You can validate and review the interference simulation results using the Design Review capabilities in Interference Simulation editor. You can create, modify and review validations in a single collaborative environment.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Create or open an interference simulation, consisting of clashes, contacts, and clearances in the result. You must have Live Validation license.

Create a Validation on an Interference Simulation

You can create a validation linked to an interference simulation in an interference simulation editor.

  1. Open an existing interference simulation.

Note: If a validation already exists for interference simulation, this validation should not be loaded in the session; otherwise, the existing validation will be opened instead of a new one created.

The interference simulation opens in the interference simulation editor.
  2. From the Compass, click Review.
The Validation app opens in the interference simulation context. A new validation is created and displayed in the interference simulation editor. You can access the commands of Design Review from the action bar.
    Notes:
    • With interference simulation linked with validation, Interference Analysis command can also be accessed from Design Review.

For more information about validations, seeDesign Review User's Guide: Working with Validations

    • It is impossible to create a validation using an existing filter in this context.
    • At this stage, you can open a validation if it already exists for interference simulation.

Create a Review on an Interference Result

You can create reviews within a validation. By default, when you create a validation, it contains a pre-existing review. If needed, you can create additional reviews within a validation.

  1. On the Validation thumbnail, click Create Review .

    The Review dialog box appears.

  2. Optional: On the Review tab, enter a name for the review, and a description.
  3. Click Finish.
The review is created within the current validation, and it is activated.

For more information about reviews, seeDesign Review User's Guide: Working with Reviews

Create a Slide in a Validation Review

Within a review, slides let you capture an assembly and its review data (i.e. annotations, measures, and sections) at a given point and in a given state.

  1. From the Review section of the action bar, click Analyze interference .
The multi-list consisting of interference analysis results is displayed.
  2. Select the interference you want to review in the multi-list.
The 3D geometry is re-framed on the selected interference. You can now create a slide on the selected interference.
  3. From the Review section of the action bar, click Slide .
The slide is created with the current viewpoint and review data in Slide View of the active review.
    Notes:
    • All the overloaded properties for specific interference such as viewpoint, parts colors, context transparency are captured in the slide.
    • The Measure and Section commands available in the context toolbar are used for quick analysis of the interference are not persistent and are not captured by reviews and slides. To create persistent measure and section in a slide, you can use the Section and Measures commands available in Validation app.
    • Activating Section, Measure, or Marker creation command in the Validation app will exit the interference analysis command.
  4. Capture the viewpoints of the different interference results in the separate reviews.
You would have separate reviews for the each interference result and corresponding slides within each review.

For more information about slides, see Design Review User's Guide: Working with Slides

Annotate an Interference Result in a Slide

You can annotate the slide using different annotation tools from the action bar.

  1. From the Review section of the action bar, click Annotation .
  2. Click Text in the context toolbar.
  3. Type your text and click in work area to position the annotation.
    The annotation is created.
  4. Optional: Click the annotation to display a context toolbar with additional options.

For more information about context toolbars, see Design Review User's Guide: User Interface: Context Toolbars.
