About the Update Status

A global status is provided in the action bar: .

The Update simulation is available when you make any changes in the product defined as a simulation context or modify the simulation specifications, . When there are no such changes, the icon remains grayed out.

For a instance, the global status will appear as not-up-to-date:

• If a part is added in the context since the last simulation computation.
• If the geometry or position of a part is modified and may be clashing with others.
• If one of the specifications of the interference simulation is modified.

You can always force the simulation computation using the Execute Simulation.

The update status of the simulation is displayed in the tree under the results node: .

It appears when the modifications are made on any of the interfering parts.

For a instance, a local update status will be switched on in the simulation tree under the results node:

• If the position or geometry of one of the clashing parts is modified since the last computation.
• If an interfering part is deleted.

If you want to optimize the update behavior, you need to select the Recompute only modified interferences check box (in the Interference Simulation Definition dialog box, Specification tab). As a result, when re-executing a simulation:

• Previously computed up-to-date interference results are not modified.
• Interferences which are either new or not up-to-date are re-computed, and updated with the current status.
