Working with Change Actions and Issues

You can generate change actions and issues for an interference metric.

This task shows you how to:

Generate a Change Action for an Interference Metric

You can generate a change action for an interference metric.

  1. Open an interference simulation and, from the Interference section of the action bar, click Analyze Interference .
  2. In the interference result list, right-click the interference metric and select Generate > Change Action .
The Generate Change Action dialog box appears with the title and description prefilled.
    Notes:
    • If the metric has no description, the description of the change action is prefilled with the name of the root product.
    • If several metrics are selected while generating the change action, the one used to prefill the title is used to fill the description. If there is no description, the description is prefilled between the following:
      • Filter name suffixed with root product name, when the context of the interference simulation is filter
      • Root product name, when there is no filter
For more information about change actions, see Change Management User's Guide: Working with Change Actions.

When you generate the change action, the following parameters are preassigned:

    Parameter Preassigned Value
Members The owners of the interfering parts
    Proposed Changes The interfering parts

If an interfering part is a fastener component, the fastener itself is added proposed changes, instead of the interfering fastener component.

Referentials The interference metric of a change action
Contexts The context of the interference simulation or, if applied, the filter

Generate an Issue for an Interference Metric

You can generate an issue for the interferences.

Before you begin: Open an interference simulation and click Analyze Interference .
  1. In the interference result list, right-click the interference metric and select Generate > Issue .

You can select several interference metrics.

The Generate Issue panel appears with the following boxes prefilled with information derived from the selected interference metric:

    • Properties:
      Option Description
Title It is prefilled with the name of the interference metric.
Description It is prefilled with the description of the interference metric. If the metric has no description, the issue's description is prefilled with the name of the context of the interference simulation.
    • Related Objects:
      Option Description
Reported Against It is prefilled with the interfering parts of the selected interference metric are set as Reported Against objects.

If an interfering part is a fastener component, the fastener itself is added as reported against, instead of the interfering fastener component.

Contexts It is prefilled with interference simulation context.
    • Members:
      Option Description
Assignees It is prefilled with the owners of the Reported Against objects.
    • Attachments:
      Option Description
Attachments It is prefilled with the selected interference metric. You can attach more files that define or depict the issue.
Note: You can modify content of the above boxes as required.

  2. Click Start to generate the issue.

For more information, see Issue Management User's Guide.
