PCF Generation Attribute Mapping

This section describes the PCF Generation Attribute Mapping table and how you can customize it.

This page discusses:

Overview

To display attributes in the generated drawing, enter a value for Type and its corresponding attributes in this mapping table.

In Data Setup, this mapping table should be assigned to:

The PCF Generation Attribute Mapping item in the resource table of Piping/Tubing Design Resources.

Rule Customization

Part of a typical PCF Generation Attribute Mapping table is shown below.

Type AttributeName ISOGenAttributeName AttributeOwner
Pipeline V_PipeInsulationSpec INSULATION-SPEC
Pipeline V_PipeSpecification PIPING-SPEC
Pipeline V_OperatingTemperature PIPELINE-TEMP
Pipeline V_NominalSize SIZE
Pipeline V_Standard STANDARD
Pipeline V_LogicalSubPartType PIPELINE-REFERENCE
Pipeline V_OperatingPressure PRESSURE
Component USER-DEFINED BOP-ELEVATION Instance
Component USER-DEFINED DETAIL-SKETCH-IDENTIFIER Instance
Component USER-DEFINED SPECIAL-STATUS

If you add a new attribute, you must modify this mapping table.

There are three columns in the table:

Column Value Description
Type Pipeline Causes attribute to be displayed in a specific area of the generated drawing, depending on the format you select. If the attribute has a value then the value will be displayed; if there is no value then the value field will be left blank.
Component If the attribute belongs to a component then enter Component in the type field. There are several customizable lines in the table that you can modify. The lines display the Alias attribute but not the corresponding CATIA attribute. If you create an attribute that corresponds to the listed Alias attribute then you can remove the words USER-DEFINED and enter your attribute. You can also add new lines if you want, entering the CATIA and Alias attributes. The display of component attributes in a drawing depends on how you customize it.
Description Causes attribute to be displayed in a description column (you can format Alias to add a column with the heading Description to the generated drawings).
ATTR-CATEGORYxx Adds a column to the generated drawing, to display additional attributes.

There are several lines in the sample mapping table having the Type value ATTR-CATEGORYxx USER DEFINED (where xx is a number). These are essentially blank lines. If you want to display an attribute value in a column, change the entries USER DEFINED to reflect the names of CATIA and Alias attributes. The attribute will be added to the columns already displayed.

A drawing can have a maximum of 20 columns.

AttributeName CATIA attribute name If the attribute name is 3DEXPERIENCE-DEFINED, a business logic is used to retrieve its value.
ISOGenAttributeName Equivalent Alias attribute name Refers to Alias documentation to determine the equivalent attribute name value.
AttributeOwner Instance or blank value Indicates if the attribute name must be searched on the instance or not. If the value is blank, then the attribute must be searched on the reference.
