File-Based Resources: Creating or Customizing a File-Based Resource
You can create or customize a file-based resource.
Using a spreadsheet or a text editing software, do one of the following:
Create a text or spreadsheet file (.csv, .txt, .xls, .xlsm or .xlsx
format). Enter column headings and any other fixed data in line with the guidelines
given in the following sections:
Open an existing resource file (one of the sample files).
Enter your piping/tubing data into the file created or opened in the previous step.
When customizing
an existing table (for example one of the sample tables), do not change the format of
the table:
Mandatory columns for each table are mentioned in the files describing the tables.
A column can be empty to be consistent with the Engineering Specification Tables.
All attribute values must be of the correct type (string, integer, etc.).
Some attributes must be preceded by a V_; follow the format of the examples given in the sample files.
You can add comments to the
table by adding additional columns.
Do not
leave a blank line in the table; table processing stops at a
blank line.
Save your resource file.
Note:
For resources with a Specification criteria, the value <Any Value> corresponds to the default specification.
Once a resource file has been created and assigned to a resource set table, you can edit the file
by clicking Edit the resource... in the Application
Resource Table dialog box.
When you have created and saved your resource file:
In Data Setup, assign the resource file to the appropriate item in the related resource set table.
In Data Setup, bind the resource set to a collaborative space.
Click Share > Save > Save with Options to save your changes.
