Context Section

In Piping & Tubing Design, the Data Information panel always displays the Context section. It provides information about the context in which you are working.

Object Selection

The following properties appear from most generic to most specific. When you edit a value, the values below it are automatically updated:

Name Description Editable Condition
Discipline Defines the discipline in which you are working. You can choose between Piping & Tubing Design, Electrical Raceway Design or HVAC Design.

If you switch from Piping & Tubing Design to another app, the information are automatically updated.

The property appears if you own the licences to at least two disciplines.
System Defines all the logical references having at least one line ID as child.

When you select a product or a part, the Context section searches the first Ref-Ref "Implement" link inside the father of the activated object in a bottom-up manner. The logical object that is referenced by the Ref-Ref "Implement" link is the root from where the available systems are obtained.

The property appears if you are in an RFLP session.
Line ID Defines all the line IDs available inside the current system.

If the activated object has a Ref-Ref "Implement" link to a line ID, only this line ID is available for selection.

If the activated object does not have a Ref-Ref "Implement" link to a line ID, then all the line IDs that are available in the system are listed.

The property appears if you are in an RFLP session.
Insulation Specification Defines the current insulation specification in use.

If a line ID is set, the value is set from the line ID.

The property appears if you are in both:
  • Assembly
  • Insulation Mode
Specification Defines the current specification in use.

If a line ID is set, the value is set from the line ID.

If no line ID is set, you choose between the default specification or the no specification value.

Note: If you select no specification, you must define the attributes of the new pipe or tube.

The property appears if you are in either:
  • Part Mode
  • Manipulate Mode
  • Spool Mode
  • PCF Mode
Route Type Defines the route type to be used for the creation of a pipe or tube.

You can choose between Rigid and Flexible.

Standard Defines the standard in use.

If:

  • A a specification is set, the available standards are listed from the specification object attributes.
  • No specification is set, the available standards are listed from the standard table of the current resource set.

Nominal Size Defines the nominal size in use.

If:

  • A specification is set, the available nominal sizes are taken from the Nominal Size table of the specification.
  • No specification is set, the available nominal sizes are taken from the Nominal Size table of the current resource set.

Note: The Nominal size sorting inside DIP option defines the sorting order of the nominal size. It is specified by your administrator in the Preferences.

The property appears if you are in either:
  • Part Mode
  • Manipulate Mode
  • Spool Mode
  • PCF Mode
Note: Values may have the following information in parenthesis:
  • Out Line ID: the value is not the one defined in the current line ID.
  • No resource set: no resource has been defined in Data Setup.
