Routing with Alternate Paths

You can create a route between a start point and an end point by selecting a solution of routing from a set of paths. The different solutions of routing are contained in a cuboid.

Note: The Orthogonal Routing command is now available when the option Maintain Straight Route From Port in Me > Preferences> App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Fluid Systems > is clear.

Before you begin: Open a product containing a route.
  1. Double-click a route.
You switch to the Piping & Tubing 3D Part Design app and a yellow symbol appears on each node of the route.
  2. Click the middle of a segment.
  3. On the context toolbar, select Orthogonal Routing.
  4. From the Orthogonal Routing panel, select the options of your choice.
    OptionDescription
    Solution Mode

All: displays all of the available paths.

    Orthogonal: displays only orthogonal paths.

    Diagonal: displays only diagonal paths.

    Axis System Mode

Global: uses the global axis system to orient the cuboid containing the different routing solutions.

Start Point: uses the start point axis system to orient the cuboid containing the different routing solutions.

End Point: uses the end-point axis system to orient the cuboid containing the different routing solutions.

A set of alternate paths appears.

  5. Move the pointer over the different paths.
The path you move the pointer over is highlighted.
  6. Click the path you want to apply between the two ends.

The route is created.
