Creating a Route

You can start creating a route by selecting the Create Route command or by selecting a port and then the Create Route command. If you select a port before clicking Create Route, specify the context from the selected port.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Route

You can create a route by clicking the Create Route command.

  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Create Route .
    You switch to the Piping & Tubing 3D Part Design app.
    Important: If the Set attributes at creation option was selected when you created a Physical Product in Add > Content, the information you entered in the Physical Product dialog box are overwritten by the selection of the rigid route reference.
  2. Use the 3D handle or one of the available commands in the context toolbar to continue the route.

Create a Route from Port

You can create a route by selecting a port and then clicking the Create Route command.

  1. From the Selection Options dialog box, click Part Selection .
  2. In the 3D area, select the part and then the port from which you want to create the route.
  3. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Create Route .
    The context is specified with the selected port and the route is created on the port. The 3D handle appears to let you modify and continue the route.
