Modifying the Flexible Route

You can modify the previously created flexible route by double-clicking it.

This task shows you how to:

Add a Point on Surface

You can modify the flexible route by adding point on surface using the Route Along the Surface command.

  1. Double-click the flexible route to edit it.
    The context toolbar appears.
  2. Select the node where you want to place the Robot.
  3. Select Route Along Surface in the context toolbar.
  4. Click another point to extend the flexible route.
  5. Select another node to modify the flexible route path along the existing length.
  6. Click another point in the work area to modify the route.
  7. Click one of the following to exit the command:
    • Exit and Activate Parent to exit the command and activate the parent product.
    • Exit to exit the command.

Add a Node Using Coordinates

You can add a new node to the pipe/tube route using the Insert Point command.

  1. Double-click the flexible route to edit it.
    The context toolbar appears.
  2. Select the node where you want to place the robot.
  3. Select Insert Point > Point in the context toolbar.

    The Point Definition dialog box appears.

  4. Enter the coordinates of points in the Point Definition dialog box.
  5. Click OK.

The pipe/tube is extended to the defined point.

Note: You can select an already created point using the Select Point option. You can also select midpoint or endpoint of the curve.

Modify a Node Position

You can modify the position of a node using the Robot.

  1. Double-click the flexible pipe/tube to edit it.
    The context toolbar appears.
    Important: The Select option must be activated.
  2. Click a node.
    The Robot is displayed on the node.
  3. Drag the Robot and drop it at the new position.
    Note: When you drag the Robot, a translation ruler is displayed. You can edit the value by clicking it.

Modify the Pipe/Tube Using the Spline Curve

It is recommended to modify the curve by modifying the spline.

  1. In the tree, double-click the RepresentationXXX of the pipe/tube for which you want to modify the route.
  2. Double-click RoutableGeometricalSet.x.
  3. Right-click CATPspFlexCurve.x and select Hide/Show.
    The spline is visible now.
  4. Double-click the spline either in the tree or in the work area.
    The Spline Definition dialog box appears.

Remove a Node

You can remove a node from the route using the Remove command.

  1. Double-click the flexible route to edit it.
  2. Select the node you want to remove.
  3. Select Remove in the context toolbar.

The selected node is removed from the route.
