Routing a Flexible Pipe/Tube Along a Surface

You can create a flexible route along a surface using the Route Along Surface command.

  1. In the Data Information panel, select Flexible as Route Type.
  2. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Create Route .
  3. Click Route Along a Surface > Robot Base in the context toolbar.
    By default, the local XoY plane is selected to route the pipe/tube .
    Note: You can select Surface to route along the selected surface.
  4. Optional: Select the offset option of your choice in the context toolbar.
    • Center Offset Point : applies the offset from the center of the pipe/tube.
    • Bottom Offset Point : measures the distance from the XY plane to the bottom of the pipe/tube.
  5. Optional: Click Surface Distance in the context toolbar.
    The Distance From Surface dialog box appears.
  6. Optional: Enter a value in the Distance From Surface dialog box.
  7. Select a Robot plane.
  8. Click at the location you want to start routing using the coordinates.
  9. Click at another location to create the pipe/tube.


  10. Click one of the following to exit the command:
    • Exit and Activate Parent to exit the command and activate the parent product.
    • Exit to exit the command.
