Generating a Drawing View

You can produce a view of your piping & tubing designs in the Drafting app. The steps in this section provide you with a brief outline of how to do this. For detailed instructions, see Drafting User's Guide: Working with Generative View Style.

Before you begin:
  1. Select Add > Content.
    The New Content dialog box appears.
  2. In the list, expand Drafting.
    A list showing the types of drafting components you can create appears.
  3. Select Drawing.
    A new representation is created and the Drafting app opens.
  4. From the View Layout section of the action bar, click Front View .
  5. Select the Piping & Tubing tab.
    The Apply a PLM filter dialog box appears. If a filter is associated with your product reference, you can select the filter from this dialog box.
  6. In the 3D view of your piping/tubing design, select either a plane or a planar face from the layout.
    An oriented preview of the drawing view is shown in the Piping & Tubing Design app.
  7. Click when you are satisfied with the preview.
    A view is produced in the Drafting app.

    If more than one GVS is available (these are created by the owner role), a dialog box appears from which you can select the style you want to use.

  8. Click the view in the Drafting app.
    The view is created and includes any 2D symbols and text specified in the GVS parameters.
