Editing a Spool

You can add and remove members of a spool and change the mode of a spool using the Edit Spool command.

  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, select Spool Mode as process mode.
  2. From the Selection Options dialog box, select Part Selection .
    For more information about the different selection options, see Selection Options and Process Modes.
  3. In the work area, select the route or the part which is already in the spool to be modified.
  4. On the context toolbar, click Edit Spool .
    • The members of the spool are highlighted in the work area.
    • The Spool Management Info Panel appears and lists the members of the spool.
    Note: If the spool is empty, select it in the tree.
  5. To add components to the spool, select the component physically connected to the spool.
    The components are added to the spool and automatically some other connected components are added following the rule of the Assisted Spool New Rule table. The components of the spool are listed in the Spool Management Info Panel.
    Important: Whenever you add components to a spool, you should update all to reconnect all the links between spool members.
  6. To remove a component from the spool:
    1. Select the component.
      Green arrows labeled 1 and 2 are displayed at the extremities of the component (if the component is a tee, a third green arrow 3 is added).
    2. Select an arrow.

      The choice of arrow determines the boundaries of the remaining components in the spool.

    The component is removed from the spool and the list of spool members in the Spool Management Info Panel is updated.
  7. To switch to the Manufacturing Mode, click Switch to Manufacturing Spool and click .
    All the members of the spool are moved, thus the product structure is modified.
