About Simulation Performance

Depending on your role, you can control how quickly a simulation runs to completion either by specifying the level of simulation performance or by allocating a specific number of CPU cores to it.

About Simulation Configuration

As you increase the requested performance or number of cores, your simulation will finish faster but will require additional tokens or consume credits at a faster rate.

Note: If you are running simulations from a structural app and submitting the simulations on the cloud, the server determines the performance settings for your simulation automatically by examining the complexity of your model. You cannot specify the performance level or number of cores manually for such simulations.

For cloud roles, you can specify the level of performance. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform estimates the baseline number of processor cores required to run your simulation, based on the model size and degrees of freedom. The baseline number of cores is doubled for each increment (1–7) of your requested performance option to determine how many processor cores will be used.

For on-premises roles, you can allocate a specific number of cores to a simulation. You can choose the default number of cores available for a simulation from the Execution options in the Preferences dialog box.
