Interface Basics

The user interface contains several main components common to most Physics Simulation apps.

Work area
The work area displays 3D representations of the object you are working on—typically your product part or assembly.
Context Menu in the 3D area
When you right-click anywhere in the 3D area (except geometry), a context menu is displayed from which you can make the following selections:
Feature Manager Available in the Physics Simulation apps in which you can create model or scenario features or apps in which you can view the results of a simulation; displays scenario features and results plots from which you can review and sort data. From the manager, you can also edit, delete, locate, and hide or show the features and plots.
Diagnostic Viewer Available after you run a simulation; displays pertinent status, warning, and error messages.
Visualization Management Show different kinds of entities (geometries, meshes) or simulation categories (model, scenario, results) while you are working in a simulation.
Visibility Control Selectively enable or disable the display of feature glyphs in the model.
Context Toolbar
The context toolbar appears close to your model during certain operations. Its contents depend on the action you are performing or the feature you are defining. It typically provides a subset of actions that are also available from the action bar.
Tree
The tree can be used to navigate to other apps. You can only edit features in the Model category. For information about controlling the display of the tree, see Managing the Scene Layout.
