Updating Imported SOLIDWORKS Models

You can capture changes made in an imported SOLIDWORKS model.

Before you begin: You must have
  • SOLIDWORKS Desktop installed
  • an imported SOLIDWORKS model as the basis of your simulation

The SOLIDWORKS Update action can be selected only when changes are made and saved to the model in SOLIDWORKS Desktop. Until such changes are detected by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the action icon appears gray (inactive).

Note: The SOLIDWORKS Connection app on 3DDashboard is also required to recognize changes to models stored in 3DSpace. Without it, SOLIDWORKS Update recognizes changes to the models available only from the local file system.
