About the General Settings

Some process parameters apply to more than one type of simulation.

Specifying the General Analysis Options

You can define the following general settings:

  • The melt temperature, which is the temperature at which polymer material enters at the injection locations.
  • The default mold temperature, which is a uniform value applied everywhere in the mold. This value is overridden by any mold wall conditions that you define and by results from a Mold step.
  • The ejection temperature, which is the temperature below which you can safely eject the part from the mold.
  • The gravity direction, which is the downward direction in which gravity acts.
  • The mold-melt heat transfer coefficient, which describes the amount of heat transfer that occurs between the polymer material and the mold wall.
  • The part insert temperature, which is the temperature of the part insert before starting the Fill and Pack analysis.
