About Field Data Export

After you create a model plot from your results data, you can export a customized set of its field data. You can also update any exported field data if subsequent changes to the scenario render them out of date or invalid.

Exporting field data enables you to perform subsequent analysis in programs such as Microsoft Excel.

Initial Export of Field Data Files

When you export field data, the exported data set opens in your default text file program automatically. The data also become available for selection in the Tabular Field Exports tab of the Feature Manager and the tree.

You can export field data to a PLM document in the database or to a file on your computer or network. For PLM documents, the exported data are available once you save the simulation and are then searchable and available for use as mapped data for subsequent simulations.

Update of Exported Field Data Objects

In some cases, you might make changes to the simulation and rerun the analysis after you have exported field data. You can configure the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to update any exported field data objects automatically if they were rendered out of date when you reran the analysis; or you can update your exported field data manually when you change the simulation results. You might want to choose the manual approach if you want to keep the older field data objects to compare their data to your more recent simulation runs.

In the tree, each exported field data object is displayed with a mask that describes its status.

No changes have been made to the field data that were exported in this field data object.

The data in this exported field data object have changed, either because of a change to the number of inputs or because of a change in the frame selection.

The data in this exported field data object have been rendered invalid because steps or load cases have been deleted or changes to the output requests have been made.
