From the top bar, click .

In the dialog box, for Format, select a file format:

For Source, select where to import the file from:
Option | Description |

File on Disc | Imports files located in local folders. |

Collaborative Space | Imports files located on shared collaborative workspaces. |

For
Location and Filename, type the path and file name or click and browse to the file to import.
By default, the path in Location references the last-used folder.

Select the file and click Open.

Select options:
Option | Description |

Configuration | (Available if the selected file contains more than one configuration of the model.) Specifies which configuration to open. |

Orientation | Specifies which axis of the model to set as the up direction. Select Y-Up or Z-Up. |
---|
Import Mates | (Available when importing .sldasm files.) Includes the mates in the imported file. |

OK.
A dialog box displays the progress of
the data conversion.
When the data conversion is complete, the imported file appears in the 3D area.
