Plastic Part Injection

SIMULIA has upgraded the Plastic Part Injection app to the more advanced Plastic Injection app.

SIMULIA has removed the Plastic Part Injection app from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for this release. If your role provided access to Plastic Part Injection in earlier releases, you now automatically have upgraded access to the advanced functionality in the Plastic Injection app. This app provides support for the same simulation capabilities in Plastic Part Injection, along with an extensive suite of features that enable you to perform more complex plastic injection simulations. These more complex capabilities include:

  • Mold simulations, in which coolant is circulated through the mold to provide continuous cooling. In a mold simulation, you can specify coolant parts that represent the cooling system and define the temperature and flow rate of the coolant flowing into and out of the system. You can specify mold insert parts that provide localized cooling in locations where regular cooling via cooling channels is difficult to achieve.
  • Virtual molds, which are approximate representations of the actual mold that enable you to simulate heat transfer around and between the plastic and coolant parts.
  • More accurate warping simulations that can account for the results from mold simulations. The greater degree of accuracy depends on your modeling of the coolant system or virtual molds and on a successful run of the mold simulation to completion.

Simulations created in Plastic Part Injection are not compatible with the Plastic Injection app. You must recreate these simulations in Plastic Injection if you want to run them again.
