Editing Product Line Properties

Product Managers and System Engineers can edit the basic details and attributes for a product line.


Before you begin: Open the required product line. See Opening a Product Line.

  1. From the page Actions menu or page toolbar, click Edit Details .
  2. Edit any of these details as required:

    Field NameDescription
    Marketing Name This field is automatically populated with the same value as the Name field. You can accept the default or specify a different name. This is a required field.
    NameThe name of the product line.
    Marketing TextThe marketing text of the new product line.
    DescriptionDetails that describe the product line.
    OwnerClick to search for and assign an owner. By default, the owner is the person who is creating the product line.
    Design ResponsibilityEnter or click to search for and assign the design responsibility for the product line to a different organization.

    If no design responsibility is defined, the product line is accessible by all Product Managers and System Engineers of the company. If you choose an organization that you do not belong to, you will not be able to access the new product line after you save your changes.

    The design responsibility must be assigned before the product reaches the Released state.

    Brand Name

    This field only shows if Market Registration is installed.

    Enter a brand name for the medical product line.
    Program

    This field only shows if Project Management is installed.

    Enter the program name or click to search for and assign a program.

  3. Click Done.
