Routing Superimposed Routes

You can create a route that is partially superimposed on another route without creating a branch.

Before you begin:

In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional and Systems Design > Diagram View, select the Allow superimposed route option from the Superimposed Route section.

In a diagram view:

  • Create and connect two equipments with a pipe.
  • Create two equipments with a free pin.

  1. Select the pin of the first equipment to be connected.

  2. Select one of the following commands:
    • Straight Line Route : To create a straight route line or a route line with intermediate points.
    • Angled Line Route : To create a route line with a 45 degrees angle.
      Notes:
      • With the Angled Line Route command, the angle remains the same even if the path of the route is modified afterward.
      • Intermediate points can be manipulated when routing with Angled Line Route and Straight Line Route.
  3. Click the pipe to define the first intermediate point of the pipe to be created.

  4. Click the pipe again to define the second intermediate point.

  5. Select the pin of the second equipment to be connected.

A route is created between the two components. The new route is superimposed on the existing pipe.
