Inserting Standalone Symbol in a Catalog

You can insert in a catalog a standalone symbol which is not linked to any component.

Before you begin:
  • Under a logical component, insert a symbol representation.
  • Edit a symbol representation in Symbol Design and add a symbol to the symbol representation.
  1. To create a catalog, select Add > New Content from the top bar.
  2. In the New Content dialog box, expand the Catalog tab and click Catalog.
  3. In the Catalog dialog box, enter a name and click OK.

    Note: To create the catalog automatically, clear the Set attributes at creation option.

    The created catalog is explored in the Design IP Classification as the root of the catalog structure.
  4. Insert a new chapter under the catalog:
    1. Right-click the selected catalog and select Insert > New Chapter.
    2. In the Chapter dialog box, enter a name for the chapter and click OK.
  5. Insert the symbol in the chapter:
    1. Right-click the selected chapter and select Insert > Item: Feature.
    2. In Symbol Design, select the symbol.
