Save Scope

Automatically exclude objects that cannot be saved

Detects the objects that cannot be saved and automatically exclude them from the save scope when you run the Save command.

Note: A warning with the list of excluded objects is displayed. The number of excluded objects displayed in the warning is limited to 15. If more than 15 objects are excluded, the first 15 excluded objects are listed followed by a line containing '…' to indicate that the list is incomplete.

Strict locking mode is a concurrent engineering mode in which a user can save modified content only if he has previously locked it. When activating "Exclude automatically objects that cannot be saved", in strict locking mode, a "not locked by the user" modified reference is therefore automatically excluded from the save. This rule is implemented in the policy associated to object and delivered in the server (customization).

Strict locking rule is implemented for every object except one object, the "Instance of Reference". The consequence is that contrary to other objects, a user can save a modified instance of reference to database even if he has not locked it previously. When "Exclude automatically objects that cannot be saved" is activated, in strict locking rule, a modified instance is automatically excluded from the save when it is not locked and when its reference is not locked by the user. When the reference of the instance is not locked or when it is locked by another user, a warning message is displayed.

Warning:
  • This option has no impact on new objects whose name already exists in database.
  • The Apply to children option in the Exclude dialog box is not available.
Important: The check performed during Automatic exclusion is the same that is performed during the editability process. For more information on the covered areas, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform User's Guide, Other Services, Opening Objects, Editability.

Save Dialog Box

Columns

Lets you select the columns to be displayed in the Save dialog box. By default, all columns are displayed.

To display only some of these columns, select the columns to be displayed from the Displayed Columns list (multi selection is supported), then double-click your selection or click to transfer the columns to the Available Columns list.

For instance, transferring the Revision, Maturity and Comment columns to the Available Columns list means that these columns will not be displayed in the Propagate dialog box.

The columns displayed in the Save dialog box are sorted according to their location in the Displayed Columns list. For example, if Modification was selected first in the Displayed Columns list, it will be the first column of the Save dialog box (the # column cannot be moved).

You can use the other icons to manage the contents of the Displayed Columns list.

Types
Lets you select the object types to be displayed in the Save dialog box. By default, representations instances are not displayed in the Save dialog box.

To customize the types to be displayed in the Save dialog box, select the types of your choice from the Displayed Types list (multiselection is supported), then double-click your selection or click to transfer your selection to the Available Types list.

For example, transferring Instances to the Available Types list automatically displays "Instances" and "Representation instances" in the list, which means that only instances and representations instances will be listed in the Save dialog box.

You can use the other icons to manage the contents of the Displayed Columns list.

Warning: References cannot be removed from the Displayed Types list and is grayed out if you select this type. If you select References and another type, is available but only the other type will be transferred.
