Render Network

The Render Network options let you configure network parameters for Creative Experience.

This page discusses:

Distributed Stellar

The following options are available:

Option Description
Enable distributed rendering Lets you use a compute cluster for raytracing with the Stellar engine. This enables performance enhancement.
  • If a sufficiently large number of cluster nodes are chosen, raytracing speed is significantly faster.
  • For low numbers of nodes, you can expect an almost linear speedup depending on the chosen render options.
  • For more nodes, scalability is limited by the parallelizable portion of the executed code (which is larger than 99%), the network bandwidth between the nodes of the cluster, your machine, and the cluster head node.

Data needs to be exchanged between your machine and the cluster head node, and between the nodes of the cluster.

Cluster host name Specifies the host name of the cluster head node.
Cluster port Specifies the port where to access the cluster.

Distributed Iray

The following options are available:

OptionDescription
Enable distributed rendering Lets you use a compute cluster for raytracing with the Iray engine.
Cluster host name Specifies the host name of the cluster head node.
Cluster port Specifies the port where to access the cluster.
VCA Lets you use VCA instead of Remote Server.

In that case, the Cluster port is not relevant.

Check server statusChecks the communication.

If it fails, the address and the port are invalid or the server does not start.

Shutdown serverShuts down the server.

VCA

The following options are available:

OptionDescription
User Lets you enter the user name.
Password Lets you enter a password.
Sign in...Checks if you are granted on the VCA and if the address is valid.

If you are granted:

  • The number of the available compute nodes appears.
  • You can enter a number of nodes under this limit.

Reserved NodesSpecifies the number of reserved nodes.

To reserve additional nodes, click Reserve more....

HTTP Proxy

These options help you configure your proxy.

To access the options, select the Use proxy check box.

You can enter an address, a port, a user, and a password.
