Package Browser
- Hide protected classes
- Select this preference to hide the protected classes in the Package
Browser.
Protected classes cannot be accessed from outside
its parent package. Note:
This preference also applies for classes
that have the protection annotation
Protection(Access.hide) .
By default, this check box is selected.
- Size of icons
- You can set the size of the icons in the
Package Browser by this preference. You can
select values between 20 pt and 32 pt.
By default, this preference has the value 27 pt.
Component Browser
- Show Parameters

Select this preference to display parameters, variables, constants, and discrete values, in
addition to default content, in the Component
Browser. Relations to knowledgeware are also displayed
by these icons.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Show reference class path

Select this preference to display, in brackets, the
corresponding full class name for each component in the
Component Browser.
By default, this check box is cleared.
Action at Double-click on components
Select an action to be performed when double-clicking components
(from the 2D graph diagram or from the
Component Browser).
- Edit: to display the
Parameters dialog box.
- Show components: to display the instance
class of the selected component.
- Show class definition: to display the
reference class of the selected component.
By default,
Edit is selected.
Components Visualization
- Frame replaceable/redeclared components

By default, this preference is selected, and
replaceable as redeclared components are framed.
- Frame inherited components

By default, this check box is cleared.
- Show hidden objects
- Select this preference to display hidden graphical objects, for
example hidden connection lines.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Diagram filter opacity
- Define the default value of the diagram filter opacity. The value
can be changed from 0 % to 100 %.
Note:
There is a corresponding flag
Advanced.DiagramFilterOpacity
By default, the value is 15 %.
- Show Units in Diagram
- Select this preference to display units in the diagram.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Show frame for diagram extent
- Select this preference to display the frame of the diagram layer extent.
This is useful when working with the coordinate system of a class, or when
working with connectors and connections.
Note:
The frame for the icon layer
extent is always displayed.
By default, this check box is cleared.
Background Color
- Diagram Background Color
- Select the background color for the diagram layer to be applied
in the
Dymola Behavior Modeling
app.
By default, the color is white.
- Icon Background Color
- Select the background color for the icon layer to be applied in
the
Dymola Behavior Modeling
app.
By default, the color is light gray.
Grid
- Display Grid

Select this preference to display a grid in the 2D diagram.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Activate Grid Snapping
- Select this preference to position the components on the grid
only.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Vertical and Horizontal Spacing
- Define a vertical and horizontal space for the grid.
By default, the value is 2.
- Grid Color
- Define a color for the grid.
By default, the color is gray.
Connection
- Highlight connections' paths when clicked
- Select this preference to highlight connection lines when you
click them.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Show labels or dotted glimpses of hidden connections
- Select this preference to display labels or dotted glimplses of hidden connections.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Reroute connection while drawing
- Select this preference to activate an algorithm that helps you
when you draw connection lines. The algorithm tries to keep connection lines
outside components and keep the connection lines orthogonal to the connected
components.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Highlight connection under mouse
- Select this preference to highlight the connection line you click
on.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Use direct connection
- Select this preference to be able to use direct connection.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Use smart connection on ports and connections
- Select this preference to be able to use smart connection.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Use the connection starter
- Select this preference to create directly a connection, without
using the
Connection command.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Starter Size
- Set a value for the connection starter size.
By default, the value is set to 4.
- Starter Shape
- Choose a shape for the connection starter.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Component's ports can be selected
- Select this preference to be able to select ports and connectors of
components.
By default, this check box is cleared.
Cross Connection Management
- Gap Bridge
- Select this preference to display a gap at the crossing point of
two different connections, and a join (drawn as a bullet) at the separating
point of two connections linked to the same port.
By default, this check box is cleared.
New Class Command
- Remember class type attribute
- Select this preference to get the presently selected class type
prefilled when creating a new class.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Remember class insert in attribute
- Select this preference to get the presently selected class for
where to insert the new class prefilled when creating a new class.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Remember partial attribute
- Select this preference to get the presently selected partial
attribute (partial or not) prefilled when creating a new class.
By default, this check box is cleared.
- Remember class extends attribute
- Select this preference to get the presently selected class for
extending prefilled when creating a new class.

Text Graphical Primitives
- Restrict minimum font size
- Select this preference to restrict the minimum text font size
when displaying texts drawn with font size selected as
auto. If you select this preference, the
minimum font size of displayed texts is the value of the
Minimum font size below.
Notes:
- Only text objects with font size selected as
auto are restricted this way.
- Text objects with this restriction may overflow their
bounding boxes.
By default, this check box is selected.
- Minimum font size
- If the preference
Restrict minimum font size is selected, you
can set the value of the minimum font size by this preference. You can select
values between 6 pt and 16 pt.
By default, this preference has the value 8 pt.
