Results

The Results options let you customize a 3D animation, once it has been performed within the Dymola Behavior Modeling app. It also lets you customize the management of Variable Brower and plot immersive panels.

This page discusses:

Movement Follow-up

Select one or more preferences to customize the traces following the 3D shape in the animation viewer.

Follow selected object

By default, this check box is cleared.

Follow object in X-direction

By default, this check box is selected.

Follow object in Y-direction

By default, this check box is selected.

Follow object in Z-direction

By default, this check box is selected.

Follow rotations of object

By default, this check box is selected.

Animation

Start animation after simulation
Set when the animation should automatically start after a simulation.
  • Never
  • Always
  • Only when 3D is detected: The animation starts automatically after a simulation if any of the following is detected in the model:
    • Modelica 3D shapes from Modelica libraries
    • Physical 3D shapes from CATIA libraries

By default, this preference is set to Only when 3D is detected.

Important:
  • This preference does not apply for Behavior Experience, in Behavior Experience animation is never started after a simulation, you always have to use the command Animate Results to start the animation.
  • This preference does not apply when simulating by the Compass.
Number of history frames
Set the number of preceding frames to be visible along with the current frame.

By default, this preference is set to 0.

Display of history frames with interval during simulation:

Interval between frames
Set the interval between frames. This improves the visualization of the animation when there are numerous frames.

By default, this preference is set to 1.

Arrow length factor

If needed, set the scaling factor of arrow lengths to adapt the arrows produced by, for example, force and torque measurements to the scale of the model you visualize.

By default, this preference is set to 1, meaning no scaling.

Results Management Settings

Maximum number of variable browsers
Set the maximum number of variable browsers that can be displayed simultaneously (1 is the minimum, and 99 the maximum value you can use). The oldest variable browser is closed when the limit is reached.

By default, this preference is set to 3.

Ask for confirmation before closing any variable browser
Select this preference to have a dialog box where you must confirm before closing any variable browser.

By default, this check box is selected.

Default variable browser docking
Set the default position of a new Variable Browser immersive panel.
  • Dock left: to dock to the left of the work area.
  • Dock right: to dock to the right of the work area.
  • Dock top: to dock to the top of the work area.
  • Stacked: to stack in the same panel as the previous Variable Browser, as a new tab.
  • Free: a new Variable Browser is stacked or not, depending on the settings, that is, the previous layout defined by the user. If previous Variable Browser panels are not stacked, the new Variable Browser is created as a stand-alone panel.

By default, this preference is set to Stacked.

Plots

Update plotters after virtual execution

Select this preference to have the Plotter window updated after a parameter modification and simulation replay.

By default, this check box is selected.

Default plot panel docking
Set the default position of a new Variable Browser immersive panel.
  • Dock left: to dock to the left of the work area.
  • Dock right: to dock to the right of the work area.
  • Dock top: to dock to the top of the work area.
  • Stacked: to stack in the same panel as the previous plot, as a new tab.
  • Free: a new plot is stacked or not, depending on the settings, that is, the previous layout defined by the user. If previous plots are not stacked, the new plot is created as a stand-alone panel.

By default, this preference is set to Stacked.
